Simple way to test yourself for Candida

Yesterday I wrote about the seriousness of Candida.  I realized today candida testthat I forgot to discuss how to test yourself for Candida.  There are numerous symptoms that don’t automatically point to Candida so unless you have the obvious symptoms such as a yeast infection, thrush, or athlete’s foot you could be walking around with a yeast overgrowth!  There is a simple test you can do right from your home and it only takes 15 minutes!

As soon as you wake up before putting anything in your mouth, even water, spit a large amount of saliva into a clear glass of water.  Within 15 minutes, even as soon as 3 minutes, you should begin to see results.  If you see long cloudy and stringy legs that travel down to the bottom of the glass you most likely have a Candida yeast infection.  You might also see small cloudy particles that are suspended in the water.

If the saliva is still floating and that water is perfectly clear you most likely do not have Candida.  If you see no signs of candida after the first 15 minutes, it is recommended to leave it alone for a total of one hour before determining whether or not you have candida – it could take longer to form the “legs”.

Hopefully you all see crystal clear water :)
